Many homes built prior to the 1960's have bad foundations because of poor designs as well as shoddy workmanship, materials, and improper drainage. As foundations fail, they typically cause a number of problems including cracks in the foundation, settling, out of level floors, cracked walls, and an overall creaky, uncomfortable house.
